Laminates come in a varity of
Laminates come in a varity of quality and benefits a number of the boards (well within your price range) have factory fitted "silencers" giving them the same acoustic properties of solid and bamboo flooring. Additional to this there is the option of using a 2mm cork or 3mm rubber underlay. We have 60 boards from solids / engeneered / laminates on large display boards and on the floor (to walk on) this would give you good idea of noise levels. We have samples for you to take home to ensure that the colours match your requirements. We also offer a free assesment along with in-house installation teams. Please feel free to contact me.
Acoustilay option
Have you thought of using a better underlay with laminates? We have a new one called acoustilay that will make a big improvement on the noise level of laminate floors. The quality of laminate also makes quite a difference. Not a great fan of vinyl myself, but if you want something decent it will cost a pretty penny. For a good quality laminate, fitted with acoustilay, you're looking at artound R330/m². Braam, Flooring Depot Willowbridge 021 914-9716
