Hi there
I am wanting to lift my carpet and polish the old wooden blocks that are underneath it. Hoever, I have heard of many chancers who have done bad quality work. Can anyone give me names and details for specialists in this area. i stay in the Northern Suburbs, Cape Town.

If there are carpets on at the moment then the floors will need to be sanded again and after that you can decide what type of finish you want to use, when lifting the carpets there will be places where the underfelt were glued down and this needs to be sanded away.

Renovating wooden floors
Hi, I have a similar request to Phillip. Have carpets at the moment with wooden floors (teak)beneath, would like to remove the carpets and restore wooden floor. Can you recommend a specialist in the Johannesburg area (North or West suburbs?

Hi Chantel
I would recommend that you contact Impi Teak on the link below, they specialise in Teak flooring and if they don't renovate floors themselves then they would be the best people to refer a specialist.
